Mimics Monthly May 2025
Howdy Folks! Hard to believe how quick April seemed to come and go, but what a month it was! I want to thank all of you for being patient and so supportive after we had our Great Pipe Burst of 2025. We are very lucky we only had to close for a few days, and we truly appreciated how you all immediately came out and supported us when we opened back up. May is gonna be a big month though, so let’s go ahead and get started!
Free Play, All Day!
As we welcome Summer, and classes begin to wind down, we have decided to do away with our in-store game rental fees, and open up all of our tables from open to 6pm every weekday! This was kind of the deal already with tables, but we decided why not just open up the game library as well! Rental fees do still matter if you want to take a game home, but as long as you’re playing here, it’s free! So come, get out of the house, hang out, and play some games, or just get some company while you co-work!
Pride, a bit early!
In a big first for us, we will be tabling at Pittsburgh Pride on Saturday, May 31st! We will be there selling pride merch, dice, etc, and just showing off who we are! This is just another step in making sure our place as PIttsburgh’s most open and welcoming game store, and the place where anyone can be themselves. We cannot wait to see y’all there!
Mimic’s Marches On!
Our new, interconnected TTRPG marches on! Tuesday night’s at 6PM, come join the beta version of our newest TTRPG project, run by Jay and Jae. With multiple tables, one interconnected world that you can help shape and adventure in, it’s the biggest RPG we’ve ever tried to run! Also, in June, this will be moving to Saturday afternoons, letting even more people get the chance to join us.
BIG EVENTS OF THE MONTH!
Pokemon: Destined Rivals: The next Pokemon set is coming in hot! We will have our usual prereleases, but our usual saturday slot will be moving to Sundays from now on! This also means our Bloomfield League Cup will be moving to Sunday as well! So join us for the Cup on the 11th at 12, and then join us for the Ditto draft Prerelease on the 18th at 1PM! And also on Tuesday the 20th at 6PM!
Daggerheart Release Party!
We are also very happy to announce that we are holding a release party for Daggerheart, the new TTRPG system that we have been using to run our Mimic’s Presents games on tuesdays. Join us May 20th at 6PM for playtests, and discounts on the book, so you can get fully kitted out for our regular adventures.

MONDAY: We have our Magic the Gathering Pauper Night, a free event highlighting the ever popular all common format! 6PM, no entry or signup required. And we also have our ongoing Pathfinder 2E game, also at 6 PM
TUESDAY: Join us every Tuesday for Pokemon TCG play at 6PM! Also at 6PM for the rest of May is our Mimic’s Presents: Daggerheart sessions. Run by our very own Jay and Jae, these tables are part of our interconnected RPG we have running! Come learn a new RPG system with the Mimics Crew!
WEDNESDAY: Causal Commander continues! Join us at 6ish every Wednesday for MTG’s most popular format in beginner friendly, casual tables! You can also join us every week at 7PM for our community led Mini Painting Class! No experience or material needed, just come and learn how to paint miniatures for your next TTRPG, or war game!
THURSDAY: Join us at 6PM for Flesh and Blood, with rotating formats every week! Or join us for our weekly Board Game night! Crack open something from our library, play with someone new, or show off an old favorite from home!
FRIDAY: Every Friday at 6PM it’s time for our Magic the Gathering draft. We are usually drafting the newest set, but will put it up to a vote in our Discord when possible!
SATURDAY: Join us on Saturday’s for various rotating TCG events! This month check our calendar to catch Altered at 2PM, Yugioh at 3PM, and Digimon at 6PM!
SUNDAY: Sunday join us for Commander League all day! Commander League is another community led event, featuring MTG’s commander format with some added deck building and other achievements!
