Introducing Godrend, the next official tabletop roleplaying game (TTRPG) campaign at Mimic’s Market. We will be playing every Wednesday night at 6pm starting in February 2026. Our “session zero” on Feb 4th will include character creation and setting preparation. Every subsequent session will also offer character creation and a Level-1 introductory dungeon, so new players can join any time.
Setting
The world has just endured the cataclysmic Godrend: a storm of deific energies left in the wake of a rabid war among the gods. No deity, god, kami or eidolon has survived the Godrend, their skeletons and lingering influence littering the continent, its landscapes warped and scarred by immense magic.
You play as a member of the Lodefolks’ Guild in Thimble–a coastal town shielded for centuries from the Godrend’s destruction by the Tooth of Ior: a towering bone, fallen from a deity of peace and stasis. With the Godrend abated, the Lodestones begin far-flung expeditions, surveying the ruin of the old world, and the desperate sprouts of the new world.
Setup
Godrend will take place across a large map we will be hanging in Mimic’s Market. We will try to evoke the “West-Marches” style game with curiosity and exploration in the forefront. The game will operate primarily on Rumors that offer players experiences, treasure and power out in the uncharted world. Players are encouraged to tell GMs at the end of every session what they plan to pursue next week, and GMs will be encouraged to push forward the narrative arcs for player characters.
System
We are playing this campaign in Vagabond, an old-school-revival (OSR) pulp fantasy roleplaying game. We have chosen Vagabond for its accessibility, quick and punchy combat, sandbox systems, and mechanics that suit exploration and travel. We really think Vagabond is a great game that will help us deliver the experience we want for Godrend. As always, no purchase of a game book is necessary, we will offer full resources and onboarding for players and GMs alike.
