Longest Night - Community Potluck and LGBTQ+ Clothes Swap
It's difficult, enduring an extended period of darkness. But we celebrate the Longest Night because it proves there's a limit to the dark and cold, and that better days come. And we endure the Longest Night the best way possible: together.
Longest Night is Mimic's annual winter community event. We have tried out different things before and will continue to every year. For 2024, we're hosting a community potluck and LGBTQ+ clothing swap. From 4-10pm on December 21st, the entire store will be converted to accommodate the event, so please spread the word! It's a great time to refresh your wardrobe by getting old stuff out and new stuff in -- FOR FREE. Anything left over at the end of the night will be donated. Note: We do not have changing facilities. If you intend to try on clothes, please plan to wear lightweight but publicly appropriate underclothes.
We expect a tough couple years for our communities here and across the country, and we're looking to start establishing support networks and mutual aid practices in advance. We're reaching out to local services and organizations to contribute information on their resources.
